PROBLEM SOLVING

MAGAZINE

I had some trouble with conflicting ideas for my magazine design. Without a clear plan for future issues, I had to make changes. So, I renamed my magazine to "Respawn" and called the first issue "Greed In Gaming." This helped me focus and set a direction for the magazine. Coming from feedback from one of my teachers. My design lacked any sense of illustration and I needed something as even graphical posters have shapes images and designs that link to the topic

I had some issues with column creation and text lining up with one another. It took a while to figure out but I eventually found out how to use the layout menu
A major issue I had was implementing Japanese text in my magazine using the InDesign software. A big roadblock was the windows IME (input method editor) which constantly blocked me from using Japanese text. I figured out a work-around by putting the text I wanted into a word document using copy and paste from google translate back into InDesign.

DOCUMENTARY PROBLEMS

I had problems with my boom microphone, the sound quality was more than okay but that came with sensitivity picking up all of the wires movements. I tried to fix it but I eventually switched to using the cameras built-in mic. While it wasn't as clear as my usual mic, it worked well enough to keep recording. although I had to do some sound editing to clear up the echo from my room.

Another issue I had was searching the internet for B-roll which I found difficult and hard to locate but I eventually found a couple articles I can look through.

UPDATE :I ended up having to re record my voice over due to the same wire issue as before.
